It looks like Alastair Darling is in a bit of a spot with economy still looking decidedly shaky and now with the Northern Rock monkey on his back. It’s not looking good for the ‘dead man walking’. Another bad week on world markets could be spark the end for the chancellor.

Behind You!
Behind You!
On the run up to Super Tuesday, Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama seem more concerned with each other than on the big prize, with the race to be the final Democrat candidate for 2008 Presidential Election turning very personal. Meanwhile the leading Republican must be thinking he’s dreaming as his campaign, which was all but over a few weeks ago now looks like he’ll be the Republican’s man for the job and with the Democrats taking their eye off the ball he steals a march on them.

Sharias of Fire
The Archbishop of Canterbury caused real controversy when he appeared to suggest that the adoption of parts of Muslim Sharia Law into the UK criminal justice system was inevitable. For a clever man, which Rowan Williams is, it would seem careless in the extreme not to see what the reaction would be to his speech. So what if he wasn’t foolish at all? Be Pure, Be Vigilant, Behave!
So Jack Straw is left out of the loop when his civil servants are caught bugging another MP when he is meeting a constituent. Her then tells us how unhappy he is that MPs should be bugged, before announcing that the rest of us are about to lose the right to privacy in legal matters. One law for us and another for you eh Jack? And they wonder why we are losing faith in out politicians - hypocrite.
BLUNDERWALL, PETER HAIN FIASCO
It was bad couple of weeks for Peter Hain, or "Agent Orange" as he is also known. Investigations into late registry of donations of a £100k and being referred to by Gordon Brown as "guilty of an incompetence." This all tied in with the Banksy wall image being sold, so it was only fitting to marry the two and produce " Blunderwall."
More updates soon.
