Gary, this is just brilliant. It says it all yet again. The fat cats getting richer at the expense of the poor people being kicked out of their homes. I was listening to a program the other week on Radio 2 and this guy was basically telling people with money to get to the auctions quick as there are a lot of re-possesed house coming on line and they can be picked up at a snip. In one case he mentioned a house in Devon, this time last year sold for £200,000 sold last week at auction for £69,000. Obscene. No other word for it. Why the building societies and banks, especially now that they are owned by the tax payer don't do more for these people who fall behind in payments is beyond me.Let them stay in the houses at a reduced rate paying them some money at least instead of turfing them out on the street where the councils have to find them accommodation normally at extortionate rents and probably owned by the fatter cats who are getting fatter by the minute in the first place.....Don't get me started....Sorry.....

Pete, unfortunately the crunch hasn't only hit homeowners it's hit people like me too in my work as I have just heard that unfortunately my regular slot at the BBC has had to be pulled.

Gary, sorry to hear that. It won't mean moving off the island will it?

No, but we'll be going as soon as we get chance - we both need to be somewhere that is more opportunity oriented.

I am Manx. I went to uni came back. No jobs in my field. All to the old boys network. Brown nosing! Try the newspapers in the UK. ITV? Best of luck.

Thanks Chris

That's exactly what it is - it isn't so much the Manx people, but the people on the Island who hold all the cards and won't let anyone else play and that's why the place is about to come to Earth with a very sharp bump indeed. I've seen it happen before.

And I'm going to say it now, because it needs saying - Isle of Man Newspapers are among the worst offenders.

Over from Babooshka.

So sorry to here this news. The BBC produces some rubbish now. I will email them and tell them too and pass the word on. Outside chance The Island paper would take you up? They might jump to your defence for once getting the push.Random rubbish thought I know.

Best to you both.

Thanks laxeylass,

I made a comment earlier about Isle of Man Newspapers being probably one of the worst for the closed old boys club on the island - I've sent them stuff twice to look at and I can't even get them acknowledge they even received it and to be honest they seem aggrieved to even accept I exist. But thanks for your support, I appreciate it and please do drop the BBC a line - that would be very useful (especially after the new run starts and I'm not there anymore so it doesn't look like I've been trying to get people to email them). Cheers Gary.
