The Archbishop of Canterbury caused real controversy when he appeared to suggest that the adoption of parts of Muslim Sharia Law into the UK criminal justice system was inevitable. For a clever man, which Rowan Williams is, it would seem careless in the extreme not to see what the reaction would be to his speech. So what if he wasn’t foolish at all?
